Are you looking for a set of workout headphones that won’t die after your first few miles? Ones that don’t stop working when you get caught up in a rainstorm? About a year ago I was in the same boat. In this post, I will share my thoughts on the headphones I have used for well over 200 miles.

When it comes to headphones, there are literally hundreds if not thousands of different options. They range from the in ear, airpod style to over the ear and everything in between. When I first started working out, I went through several different options until I finally found the Tarah Pro 2’s from Jaybird.
Why the Tarah Pro’s
So lets look back to what made me settle on the Tarah Pro’s. I was starting to run well over 10 miles and my airpods were running out of juice, especially on cold runs. Beyond that, I was sick of having the airpods fall out of my ears onto the road. I knew I was training for a marathon and after a quick calculation, I knew I would need a pair of headphones that would last at least 4.5 hours even in the coldest weather. And finally, they had to be comfortable. There were not many headphones that were on the market that checked all of these boxes. That is when I started reading about the options from Jaybird. I looked at the different options and read a ton of reviews and they were all very positive. Looking back, I am so glad I gave them a try.
Let’s talk about a few of the key specs for the headphones. First and foremost the headphones rock a 14-hour battery life which is perfect for endurance athletes. Another key differentiator is the IPX 7 weather resistance which means you don’t have to worry about getting caught in a rainstorm or having to replace your headphones due to sweat! Ergonomically these headphones are a dream. In the package, you will find several different rubber tips for the headphones that ensure that the headphones will be comfortable and snug during your run. Finally, a useful feature is a clip that is on the wire of the headphones that allows you to secure your headphones to your shirt or your hat during your run!
3 Things I like:
- Battery Life
- Water Resistance
- Ergonomics (In-ear fit and the convenient tension clip on the wire)
3 Things I Don’t Like:
- Wish it would allow me to use “Hey Siri” / “Hey Google” without a button press
- Longer Charger Cable
