As always any apps, websites, or gadgets will be linked in the description. Let’s get into it! Let’s get into today’s topic, the Wyze Scale!
Who is this Wyze?
The Wyze Smart Scale is a rather new entry into the crowded smart scale market that promises to be everything that you want in a smart scale for under $20. If you have never heard of Wyze, they are a small startup company based just outside of Seattle and over the last few years they have been disrupting the home security and smart device markets. Since they have conquered these markets, they decided it was time they disrupt the fitness market by launching 2 new products, the Wyze scale and the Wyze band. I have both of the products and I have been using them over the last few weeks and I look forward to sharing my thoughts on them as I continue to use them.
I want to preface this review with two things. First, Wyze is very new to this space so I’m gonna give them a break when it comes to a few of the features being half baked. Second, I am amazed at what Wyze is able to do while hitting their low price points. I want to be clear, having used Wyze devices for the past 6 months, they are not just Chinese knockoff products, they are well built and pretty dependable.
3 things I like about the Wyze Scale
- Price and build quality
- Ease Of Use Especially for multiple people
- App Syncs with Apple Health and has good tracking for being new to this space.
3 things I don’t like about the Wyze Scale
- Must have your phone near you when you weigh yourself
- It doesn’t work with Fitbit or Google Health as of writing. According to their website, it is coming soon
- The app doesn’t do a great job telling you what the measurements actually mean
Below is a video in which I explain my thoughts on this scale and what I like and dislike about it.
In closing, is this something I think you should pre-order? That comes down to if you are an Apple Health user or not. If you are an Apple Health user then absolutely. Otherwise, maybe hold off until it gets support for your prefered fitness solution!
