Are you thinking about starting the Whole 30 challenge but you want to see what kind of results you can expect? If so, you are in the right place. In this video, I share my results from doing the Whole 30 as well as the 5 things we learned while doing the challenge.
The Results Are In
First off, lets talk about results, we didn’t go into Whole 30 wanting to lose weight, it was really just to learn more about the food we eat and basically reset our habits. We did have a pretty decent change in our body composition but the results were not radical by any means.
First off, lets talk about weight-loss, I lost about 6 pounds going from 174 down to 168, in about 40 days and my wife lost about 4. For me this is not a huge change especially from the way I was eating before we started but ill take any weight loss I can 🙂
BMI, BMI is one that doesn’t really fluctuate a lot for me, when I started I was at 28 and now I am down to 27.1. Again, not a huge change but I will take it!
Body Fat % is one of the things that I am really focused on this year. I am hoping to tone a little bit more so I look healthy and develop more muscles then just my running muscles. Whole 30 gave me a nice jump start, going from 26.3 down to 24.5. As we do more and more beach body workouts, we are hoping to see an even bigger jump.
And finally, Muscle mass. I don’t attribute6 this stat to the Whole 30. I firmly believe that the gained muscle mass is due to us doing beach body workouts every morning at 6:30 AM.
Point 1 – You can have quantity and quality
Point 2 – There is sugar in a lot more than you think
Point 3 – Clean foods = More Energy
Point 4 – You NEED a support system, mindset matters
Point 5 – It can be expensive, especially the Almond Butter
What Would We Do Different?
We still had snacks even though you really aren’t supposed to. These were not un-healthy snacks, these were apples, veggies, and other clean foods. Also, next time we did the Whole 30, we wouldn’t purchase Lara bars. They are super high in calories even though they are Whole 30 compliant.
I put together explaining the above points in depth and you can watch the video below!
I want to hear from you!
